Tangled Rapunzel Party

Little girls love fairy tales ... and this little princess is just mad about Rapunzel.  But not any Rapunzel, it had to be Tangled Rapunzel :-) Of course, I was delighted to oblige and set out to create a Tangled wonderland for her 3rd birthday.

Anyone familiar with the much loved Tangled movie will know there are a few critical elements to bring to the party (mind the pun).  These include:
  • Hair - lots and lots of it
  • Sunbursts
  • Pans
  • A Tower
As this party was set in an open office area, we had quite a bit of space to work with.  The first area guests saw was the welcome table.  I adorned it with greenery and a plaited hair strand, as well as sunburst banners. Incidentally, these were carried throughout the party area but I didn't get a picture of them.

The next area of focus was the kiddies table.  My superstar hubby molded a Tangled tower from plaster of paris as a centrepiece, including fake ivy creeping up the sides!  We included more greenery and braided hair for effect.  A selection of stuffed mini pitas and purple and yellow sweets were presented on pans that we made from black pizza servers and cardboard handles. Juices and apples were also placed on the table.

The next table was the adults snack table. I used a greenery backdrop and decorated this with a long braid, painted a cardboard replica of 'The Snuggly Duckling' pub sign and served an assortment of Tangled inspired food.  This included braided breads, apples, veggie and humus shooters, cold meats, cheeses, grapes, orange butter and savoury biscuits.

Mommy didn't want too many sweeties for the party so we set a table with orange boat jellies with sunburst toppers, some caramel popcorn in purple cups and a few sweeties in jars. The cake was supplied by the Mommy. We placed a name banner above the table and had the party favour table set alongside.

Party favours included a princess crown (of course!), a Pascal (the chameleon) party blower and a set of paints and paintbrushes as Rapunzel was an artist. These were placed in yellow bags with Tangled name tags attached.

I'd love to hear what you think of our Tangled Rapunzel party!
