In my usual style, I brought the invitation design into the party decor, including a large Welcome Sign placed on the mantle piece - the focal point in this home - and pictures of the birthday girl alongside. The fireplace was covered with a piece of large 'furry' material and allowed me to display the hanging banner quite nicely. Other elements included some rainbow colored balloons, set in a slight arch above the mantle.
The sweets table was obviously the centre of much attention! I created a rainbow backdrop using party streamers cut to length and secured to the wall using double sided tape. The white lanterns represent a cloud effect. Unfortunately we lost two in a strong draft at the last minute so the party had to proceed without the full cloud effect. :-(
Rainbow jellies and an assortment of colorful sweets were laid out for the kids to nibble on.
A small selection of rainbow colored snacks were on offer for the 'adults' with themed food toppers, of course. Popcorn and crisps were displayed in large vases which added a nice effect to the table.
And what is a rainbow party without the ever-popular Rainbow Cake? The effort involved was so worthwhile. And it tasted great too. :-)
Looks lovely! What program do you use to make the invites?
ReplyDeleteThanks. I use CorelDraw for all my design work.
